Students
Our library has a collection of more than 5000 books, 600 journals, bulletins, annual reports and report series, atlases and models on subjects such as Astronomy, Space, Physics, Mathematics, Computers, etc. In addition, slides, video cassettes, audio cassettes, CDs, Floppy disks, microfilm, microfiche, photographs, poster collections are available. Rare astronomy series and books dating back to 1800 years are in the library. Some selected Astronomy periodicals are followed regularly. In addition, electronic journal subscriptions related to the central library continue. There are resources in German, French, Russian and Chinese, mainly in English. A significant amount of even source resources are also stored in the collection.
Our books and magazines are entered into the computer with the catalog program called “UFUK”, and our publications can be accessed on the internet.

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM OUR LIBRARY:
Our library is open to all Istanbul University Members, University Members of our Country and Researchers.
In our library, academic staff of Istanbul University Faculty of Science, Astronomy and Space Sciences Department and undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students of our Department, as well as Istanbul University Academic Staff and students, Academic Staff and students of other Universities are served, limited lending and photocopying. -support service is available.
By borrowing the books of the faculty members of our department; Students of our department, other students and researchers from outside the department can benefit from our library by making photocopies. Again, only the students of our Department can use our hall to sit and study.
TERMS OF USE:
Our students are not loaned books. Student of the Department of Astronomy and Space Sciences, on condition that they take a photocopy or sit in the hall; other students can benefit from the library by making photocopies.
Instructors of the Department of Astronomy and Space Sciences, Lecturers who have retired from our Department, and Lecturers who teach in our Department according to Article 40/a of the Law No. 2547 can borrow books until their assignments are over.
Readers coming from outside the university can benefit from the library material provided that they get a photocopy, they cannot borrow books and publications.
Reference sources, periodicals, unpublished theses, rare manuscripts and prints, are not lent.
THESES:
Theses in our library are placed in separate cabinets in the order they arrive at the library. Readers coming from outside the department can benefit from the theses by partially photocopying them.
PERIODICALS:
Periodicals that come in exchange with the periodicals that our department subscribes to are placed systematically. Periodicals are not lent to the reader, a photocopy of the requested article can be taken.

PHOTOCOPY:
Photocopy of the library material can be taken by those other than the faculty members of our Department, provided that they leave their identity cards. In accordance with the Law on Intellectual and Artistic Works, the reader cannot photocopy all the theses.
WORK HOURS:
Our Library, which is open uninterruptedly between 08:30 in the morning and 17:00 in the weekdays throughout the year.
PERSONEL :
Service is provided by one of our support staff and part-time student staff.
